The New York Daily News reports that during last month’s terror alert in the United Kingdom, author J.K. Rowling was not forced to check all of her belongings as her fellow passengers were. They were only allowed to carry their essential ID, medications, and keys.
Rowling, author of the popular Harry Potter series of books, was allowed to carry the manuscript for her next book onboard after she refused to be parted from the manuscript for Book Seven of the series. Part of it was handwritten and she had no copies.
The article reports that the TSA didn’t return a call on this preferential treatment, although oddly, as a passenger exiting the United Kingdom, her screening would be subject to British security, and thus we are confused as to why they would be asked for comment.
