Hiding the Odor

USAToday reports that an American flight from Washington National to Dallas Fort Worth Airports was diverted Monday after passengers reported smelling struck matches. The plane landed safely and the FBI, TSA, and airport authority responded and everyone and their luggage was offloaded.

A woman admitted she struck the matches in an attempt to conceal flatulence. The woman, who lives near Dallas, has a medical condition. American has banned her for misconduct, although she was not charged with a crime. It is illegal to strike a match on an airplane.

Perhaps this could have been averted if the woman had heard of travel-sized lysol or potpourri.
