A Jetblue plane departing West Palm Beach for JFK returned to Palm Beach International after a piece of its engine cover fell off. Flight 830 took off around 6AM, and the pilot felt the plane vibrate and requested a return to the airport. Jetblue procedures require the pilot to return to the airport if he or she feels any unusual vibration or sees an indicator light on the instrument panel. The plane has been grounded pending an investigation. Each customer will be receiving a voucher equal to the cost of the round-trip for the inconvenience. Three passengers opted not to fly at all and received a full refund.
Jetblue inaugurated its codeshare agreement with Cape Air today, allowing passengers to travel on a single itinerary with baggage transfer to and from Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Provincetown, and Hyannis from any connecting point on the Jetblue network through Logan Airport in Boston.
