- On Monday, April 2, Expressjet and LA/Ontario International Airport will join together to announce the beginning of scheduled service, which is considered the largest expansion in the airport’s 84 years.
- United’s service from Washington-Dulles Airport to Rome will be beginning this weekend. Flight 966 will depart Dulles on April 1, and return as flight 967 on April 2nd. These flights will be operated by Boeing 777 with 10 First Suite seats, 45 Business seats, and 198 Economy seats…includiing 84 Economy Plus seats.
- Jetblue announced today CompanyBlue Meetings, a program to assist corporate meeting planners. This is part of Jetblue’s continual effort to make itself more marketable to corporate travellers. As part of this, Jetblue is considering refundable tickets and holding seats for its most profitable travellers.
- This month marks the first year of service for the Boeing 777-200LR(Longer Range) Worldliner. The 777-200LR is capable of flying up to 9,450 nautical miles, enabling it to connect nearly any city in the world nonstop, carrying 301 passengers in an average three class configuration.
- Aeromexico has announced it has added additional flights from Los Angeles to both Aguascalientes and Leon/Bajio, expanding each to six times weekly with plans for daily service in both markets beginning in May. Aeromexico serves more than 40 cities in Mexico, and 15 cities in the United States.
- Boeing will introduce the 787 on 7/8/07…according to Reuters, in an obvious publicity stunt at its assembly plant in Everett, Washington. The first test flight is planned for late August, with the first delivery in May of 2008.
