Frontier Airlines is expanding its service to Puerto Vallarta with flights from San Jose and Sacramento, beginning December 15th. Service will be operated three times weekly from San Jose, and four from Sacramento, with 76-seat Embraer 170 aircraft, operated by Republic Airlines. One of the San Jose flights will be operated by Frontier’s own A319 aircraft.
Pitt-Greenville Airport in eastern North Carolina is trying to lure service on United using federal funds to provide revenue guarantees. They hope to add two daily roundtrips to Washington-Dulles Airport, in addition to their current five daily US Airways flights to Charlotte.
Spirit Airlines suffered a weekend of widespread flight disruptions, forcing the cancellation of about 10% of his schedule. Rough weather in the Northeast on Friday forced diversions, cancellations, and delays. Plane positioning issues, as well as pilots exceeding their hours due to the delays caused a domino effect.
Upgrade Travel reports that TSA officials, wanting more respect from the public, are having their white shirts replaced with blue uniforms(seen above) that give them a more police-like feel.
